Task 2 - My Contribution

Since Task 2 is a group task we decided no to do it all together but separate all the points among each other and then put them all together in a presentation with the help of SlideRocket!. Every one gathered the information about particular important aspects of the combination of our Music video and ancillary task!
I have collected and prepared the information about the star image of our band and its importance for successful marketing of the band. Here it is:

Evaluation task 2
The star image of our band "Reportage" is a very high class, trendy, fashionable young females, who are not only attractive, but also intelligent and politically and socially involved! By their appearance and actions they are challenging social norms. This is what you are going to see in the music video itself. We can't make them too serious, as it will reduce the popularity of the brand (e.g. Jannele Monae, Caro Emerald). So, they are going to have a fashionably retro look. According to Richard Dyer’s theory “Reportage” is a synthetic band more than organic, since girls do not play the instruments or write the songs themselves, however lyrics make sense and idea that girls are trying to send to the audience about being beautiful and natural and living the life, rather than concentrate on appearance you should be a personality. In the CD digipack and website we are trying to make girls be closer to the audience and look more real, for that purpose we put a lot of backstage and real life photos of them on the website and inside booklet of the CD digipack.

Target audiences for our band are:
-Young women 16-21
-American and White European
-Housewives, who admire that lifestyle and their beauty and want to look and live like them. They want to be younger - 35-40 years old
-Fashionistas, feminists

According to JICNARS scale (according to income):
-A - higher management/ administration/professional
-B-middle management/administration/professional
-C-subsistence income/pensioners/widows/casual labour/unemployed

According to teenage VALS:
-Rebels: Who wish to remake the world in their own image
-Utopians: Who want the world to be a better place
-Trendies:They crave the attention and admiration of their peers

According to VALS:
-Actualisers: Successful, sophisticated. They are interested in their own development and expressing themselves. Image is very important for them, not as evidence of status or power but as an expression of their independence and character.
-Experiencers: Young, enthusiastic, impulsive and rebellious. Looking for new, enjoying risk. Quickly find new possibilities but are just as quick to cool. They find outlets in sport, outdoor activities, and social activities. Avid consumers and spend much of their income on clothing, music and film.
